【摘要】:TheCCSapparentviscosityofautomotiveengineoilscorrelateswithlowtemperatureenginecranking.CCSapparentviscosityisnotsuitableforpredictinglowtemperatureflowtotheengineoilpumpandoildistributionsystem.EnginecrankingdataweremeasuredbytheCoordinatingResearchCouncil(CRC)L-494testwithreferenceoilsthathadviscositiesbetween600and8400mPax00B7;s(cP)atx2212;17.8x00B0;Candbetween2000and20000mPax00B7;s(cP)atx2212;28.9x00B0;C.ThedetailedrelationbetweenthisenginecrankingdataandCCSapparentviscositiesisinAppendixesX1andX2ofthe1967TeditionofTestMethodD26025andCRCReport409.4BecausetheCRCL-49testismuchlesspreciseandstandardizedthantheCCSprocedures,CCSapparentviscosityneednotaccuratelypredicttheenginecrankingbehaviorofanoilinaspecificengine.However,thecorrelationofCCSapparentviscositywithaverageL-49enginecrankingresultsissatisfactory.ThecorrelationbetweenCCSandapparentviscosityandenginecrankingwasconfirmedattemperaturesbetweenx2212;1andx2212;40x00B0;Cbyworkon17commercialengineoils(SAEgrades5W,10W,15W,and20W).Bothsyntheticandmineraloilbasedproductswereevaluated.SeeASTMSTP621.6AcorrelationwasestablishedinalowtemperatureengineperformancestudybetweenlightdutyenginestartabilityandCCSmeasuredapparentviscosity.Thisstudyusedten1990’enginesattemperaturesrangingfromx2013;5downtox2013;40x00B0;Cwithsixcommercialengineoils(SAE0W,5W,10W,15W,20W,and25W).71.1Thistestmethodcoversthelaboratorydeterminationofapparentviscosityofengineoilsbycoldcrankingsimulator(CCS)attemperaturesbetween-5and-35176;Catshearstressesofapproximately50000to100000Paandshearratesofapproximately105to104s-1andviscositiesofapproximately500to25000mPa183;s.Therangeofaninstrumentisdependentontheinstrumentmodelandsoftwareversioninstalled.Theseresultsarerelatedtoengine-crankingcharacteristicsofengineoils.1.2AspecialprocedureisprovidedinAnnexA1forhighlyviscoelasticoils.1.3Proceduresareprovidedforbothmanualandautomateddeterminationoftheapparentviscosityofengineoilsusingthecold-crankingsimulator.1.4AspecialmanualprocedureisprovidedinAnnexA1forhighlyviscoelasticoils.1.5ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasthestandard.1.6Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.Specificwarningstatementsaregivenin7.1,7.2,7.3,andSection8.
